Background

When RAMCloud performs recovery, partitions of the failed master's data is distributed to and recovered by recovered masters.  The way in which RAMCloud decides how to partition the failed masters data for recovery is the topic of this page.  Currently, partitions are trivially defined based on tablets where one full tablet is place in one partition.  Under development are more advanced ways to determining partition contents to meet certain performance criteria.
